When collecting, processing and storing personal data provided by a client, Morison Patsalides Limited, a regulated company established in the Republic of Cyprus and licensed by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Cyprus (ICPAC) under license number E031/G/2013, is subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 adopted on 27 April 2016, Regulation on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), of the European Parliament and of the Council, as amended from time to time, a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union.

The protection of your privacy and your personal information is of paramount importance to us. We are committed to safeguarding any client information we collect, process and store, applying all reasonable measures, including strict security standards and sophisticated security technology, to ensure that clients’ personal data will be processed in a manner that provides protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. Morison Patsalides Limited and its employees are authorized and appropriately trained for the processing of personal data.

Collection of personal data

Requesting the provision of auditing, accounting, tax, VAT and consulting services and wishing to establish a business relationship with Morison Patsalides Limited, it implies the collection and further processing of certain personal data from you.

Purpose of collecting and processing of personal data

    Employees and associates of Morison Patsalides Limited shall process your data which have been provided, or shall be provided in the future by you to Morison Patsalides Limited, or have been obtained from authorized third parties, for the following specific, explicit and legitimate purposes:
  • (i) compliance with the applicable legislation specifically with the provisions of the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing legislation and tax law
  • (ii) for the purposes of performing our contractual obligation to you
  • (iii) for the provision of auditing services to you
  • (iv) for the provision of accounting services to you
  • (v) for the provision of taxation services to you
  • (vi) for the provision of VAT services to you
  • (vii) for the provision of consulting services to you, and
  • (viii) based on your express consent to the processing of the information for the above purposes.

It is noted that because the provision of the personal data by you as well as the processing of the personal data that will be requested from you is a statutory requirement, withdrawal of your consent cannot affect the lawfulness of storage and processing of your personal data.

Who controls and processes your personal data

The recipients of your data are Morison Patsalides Limited and also legal advisors of your company, Banking Institutions with which your company has established a business relation, to which all required information about you will be provided including inter alia information concerning your personal data strictly for the purposes of: (i) compliance with the applicable legislation specifically with the provisions of the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing legislation and tax law, (ii) for the purposes of performing our contractual obligation to you, (iii) for the provision of services to you explained above and (iv) based on your express consent to the processing of the information for the above purposes.

Confidentiality

Any information regarding yourself, shall not be disclosed to any third parties, other than the above mentioned parties and for the above mentioned purposes, except with your prior consent or in accordance with any applicable legislation, court order or to any governmental department of the Republic of Cyprus if requested by Morison Patsalides Limited. Your personal data will not be used for incompatible purposes.

Personal Data Record Keeping

According to section 68(2) of the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Activities Law, Morison Patsalides Limited is obliged to maintain records of documents and data for a period of at least six (6) years, which is calculated after the execution of the transactions or the termination of the business relationship.

Your rights

Consent in relation to transferring your personal data to third countries

With your express consent and written instructions, your personal data, if requested by you and after we have been granted a license by the Commissioner of Personal Data Protection, will be sent to a third country for the purpose of opening a bank account in a banking institution established outside the European Union. We are obliged to inform you that in third countries which are not bound by the EU Regulations on Data Protection and no adequacy decision was issued for appropriate safeguards on Data Protection by the European Commission in relation to those jurisdictions and this extent, personal data may not be protected to the extent that is considered adequate in the European Union.

Morison Patsalides Limited reviews its privacy information regularly and reserves the right to amend or modify this policy at any time, in response to changes in any applicable legislation.
